This year sees the Kildare Readers Festival which is organised by Kildare Library & Arts Service celebrate its 10th anniversary with an eclectic line-up of literary luminaries with events occurring at various venues around Newbridge.

This year the Festival is looking forward to welcoming Douglas Kennedy, author of The Great Wide Open, The Heat of Betrayal, The Moment and many more. Joseph O’Connor will be returning to the festival along with Kit de Waal and Henrietta McKervey. For the season of Samhain, Niamh Boyce, Martina Devlin and Stacey Halls will talk witches and their place within history and throughout the canon of fiction.

For those interested in developing their writing skills there will be, as part of the Kildare Readers Festival, a series of workshops covering poetry, well-being, short stories and protest writing.
