The 35th Cooley-Collins Traditional Irish Music Festival will be happening in Gort, Co. Galway over the October Bank Holiday weekend. The Festival honours the memory of accordionist Joe Cooley and the great tin whistle player Kieran Collins. It will run from the 25th until the 28th of October. One can expect a great weekend of Music, Song and Dance featuring a great line up of musicians from the US, UK and from all over Ireland plus Gort’s own local musicians.

The Official opening of the Cooley-Collins Traditional Irish Music Festival will be at 7.30pm in Sullivans Hotel and will be followed by a Céilí featuring the “Star of Munster Céilí Band” at 9.30pm.

The festival will also feature a number of CD launches over the weekend.

Over the Festival Weekend, there will be traditional music sessions occurring in the Pubs throughout the town. These sessions will be happening at different times, day and night, and are marvellous free entertainment open for all to attend. Participating in them will be some of Ireland’s finest musicians. Details of the Session Trail can be found at Session Trail.
