Corofin Traditional Festival

The 2018 Corofin Traditional Festival will kick off at 8pm on the 27th February with a concert featuring the Shandrum Céilí Band in Teach Ceoil.

Teach Ceoil, the focal point for the festival, is a converted cottage providing an intimate venue which allows only a maximum of 120 people to attend.

Over the festival there will be performances in Teach Ceoil by Therese McInerney, Conor O’Loughlin with Brian Donnellan, Frankie Gavin, Conor Connolly, Padraic O’Reilly, James Carty, Brian McGrath, Bríd Harper, Tony O’Connell, Cyril O’Donoghue, The Friel Sisters – Sheila, Anna and Clare, Caitlín nic Gabhann, Ciaran Mooney, Cathal Ó Curran, Padraic Keane, Aidan Connolly, Fergus McGorman, Ruairí McGorman and Meitheal prize winner Caoimhe Flannery with Eoin O’Neill. As part of the festival there will be a series of Workshops/Masterclasses occurring on Saturday the 3rd of March. Prior competence in a student’s chosen instrument is expected. The cost per workshop will be €20. The Tutors are: Banjo: Cathal Ó Curran; Concertina: Caitlín Nic Gabhann; Fiddle: Clare Friel & Ciaran Ó’Maonaigh; Flute: Anna Friel; Uilleann Pipes: Sheila Friel.

On Sunday, the final day of the festival, there will be traditional sessions in all the bars.
