Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan - The Munster Fleadh

This will be an action-packed week of events which will include a wide selection of outdoor entertainment, concerts, céilithe, workshops, sessions, and most importantly the Munster Fleadh competitions where competitors from the six counties of Munster will compete for a place in the 2019 All-Ireland Fleadh in Drogheda.

There will be an abundance of free open-air entertainment during the Fleadh weekend on the Gig Rig with some of Clare and Munster’s finest local musicians and groups taking to the stage in Ennis Town Centre.

With the street sessions, musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments and join into any of them or they are free to start their own session.

There will be a Street Entertainment Competition on Friday, July 19th in Ennis Town Centre which all musicians are encouraged to enter.

The Fleadh Session Trail will feature a series of Pub Session’s guaranteed to delight all followers of Irish traditional music. With a selection of Ireland’s finest musicians coming to the town, make sure to pay a visit to all the Ennis pubs hosting Irish traditional sessions during the Fleadh weekend, have a drink and listen to some wonderful traditional music, or bring along your own instrument and join in.

For all those with an interest in the Irish Language there will be a venue set aside at Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan where a person with only a few words of Irish or none at all, will be as welcome as the fluent speaker.  The venue will contain many displays of interesting material and the overseas visitor will always gets a feel for the Irish culture at this venue, ‘Ionad na Gaeilge’ which will be open during the Fleadh weekend.
