Fleadh na gCuach, the Cuckoo Festival, takes place over the May Bank Holiday weekend in the scenic village of Kinvara, County Galway. This traditional music and community based arts festival will be celebrating its 25th year this May. It has a well established reputation for the best in traditional music, attracting musicians from all over Ireland and beyond.
Fleadh na gCuach will have a mix of Traditional music, Singing sessions, Set dancing, Art & Crafts and Poetry readings. One will find in excess of 50 sessions in the villages’ pubs during the festival.
The Fleadh is renowned for the quality of its poster and year after year manages to secure the services of the best local artists. This year the poster was created by musician, singer songwriter and very much a member of the Kinvara music and arts community, Jim McKee. The poster will be available for purchase so keep an eye out!
This is very much a family orientated festival with something for everyone. You can certainly expect to have a most enjoyable weekend.
