Immrama - Lismore Festival of Travel Writing

Immrama is held in Lismore, Co. Waterford, Ireland, on a weekend in June each year since 2003. Immrama has been dedicated to the art of Travel Writing, Good Music and Fine Entertainment since its inception. ‘Immrama’ is an early Irish word for a ‘voyage tale’ and takes place from June 12th to 16th. Over the centuries many people have made journeys to and from Lismore and it is hoped that you will enjoy your lmmram in Lismore.

This truly unique event investigates the intricacies of travel writing and its associated literature. Local and international writers take part with readings, workshops, exhibitions and film helping to explore the elements of the travel genre. This year will see presentations from Dr. Robyn Rowland, Lerato Mogoatlhe, Donald Brady, Charlie Piggott, Neil Oliver, Sarah Outen and Rosita Boland.

Amongst the fringe events will be the launch of Castle Arts 2019 catalogue in Lismore Castle on the 15th at 2pm and a Farmers Market on the 16th.
