Come to Spiddal and take part in the 5th annual Seachtain Ceoil Chois Fharraige Irish Music Festival Summer School organised by Gannon’s Music Shop, from Monday the 6th until Friday the 10th of August.

Workshops will take place on all traditional instruments, taught by some of Ireland’s premier artists, as well as Sean-Nós Dancing, Sean-Nós Singing and Irish Language workshops.

The aim of this annual event, which takes place on the first week of August, is the preserving and promoting of traditional Irish music, dance, song and language in the seaside village of An Spidéal.

The week will also include various Lectures, Pub Sessions, Concerts and Afternoon Sessions for all students. There really is something for everyone at this week-long Irish music festival by the sea!

The beautiful scenic Gaeltacht village An Spidéal (Spiddal) has always been place where artists have come to enjoy the serenity and to create. Spiddal has provided inspiration for many singers, musicians, artists and writers over the years, including the super-groups DeDannan and The Waterboys. The week provides interaction between teachers and students with pub sessions, lectures or just audience participation. Seachtain Ceoil Chois Fharraige will provide culture, knowledge and memories that will inspire and last a lifetime.
