What started as the Seán Dunne Writers’ Festival in the 1990’s, and is now the annual Waterford Writers’ Weekend, takes place from the 25th until the 27th of October in the city of Waterford as part of the Imagine Arts Festival which is running from the 18th until 27th of October.
Waterford Writers’ Weekend has over the years become one of Ireland’s most prestigious festivals. Each year it brings together poets and authors to showcase their work. The festival promotes the art and the craft of writing and celebrates creativity in all generations. This lively and engaging festival is filled with workshops, discussions, and debates designed to engage and delight audiences.
Some of the country’s award-winning and best-selling authors and poets are bound for Waterford to take part in this annual Festival which is part of the Imagine Arts Festival this October.
With creativity in youth being of special significance to the festival, there are events for students, children and families helping to inspire the imagination.
