Whiskey Live Dublin is Ireland’s premier whiskey tasting event with over 60 exhibitors, all providing whisk(e)y samples. Meet the faces behind your favourite brands, from both Ireland & across the globe. Discover new favourites & sample premium whiskies, all included in the ticket price. Expect bespoke food pairings & cocktail samples too.
At Whiskey Live Dublin you can experience a full range of Irish spirits with gin & whiskey-barrel aged beer. Master Classes will be available in limited numbers. Session times are as follows:-
- Friday 22nd Evening Session: 6.00-9.30pm
- Saturday 23rd Afternoon Session: 1.00-4.30pm
- Saturday 23rd Evening Session: 5.30-9.00pm
All sessions at Whiskey Live Dublin will last for 3.5 hours with last samples being poured 15 minutes before the end of each session. Your ticket entitles you to entry to one session. Please note that you cannot attend both sessions on the Saturday & you can only attend a masterclass that is on during your session time. The session tickets entitle you to access to the event and include the samples from exhibitors as well as food pairings, whilst stocks last. The 28th Éigse Dhiarmuid Uí Shúilleabháin will be held in Cúil Aodha & Baile Bhúirne (Coolea & Ballyvourney) in the Múscraí Gaeltacht, starting on the 29th of November and running until the 1st December. This annual festival is held in memory of the journalist, broadcaster and traditional Irish music singer and songwriter, Diarmuid Ó Súilleabháin from Cúil Aodha, who tragically died in a car accident in 1991.
You can look forward to three entertaining days that will be full of music, singing, dancing and fun with Concerts, Music Sessions, Céilí, Workshops, Singing Sessions, Dance and Lectures.
As part of Éigse Dhiarmuid Uí Shúilleabháin there will be a series of Workshops which are usually held in Coláiste Ghobnatan and Ionad Cultúrtha. These workshops have always been very well attended, therefore it is advisable to book early in order to avoid disappointment. It needs noting that these Workshops are not suitable for beginners.
Over the Festival Weekend, there will be traditional music sessions occurring in the Pubs throughout Baile Bhúirne. These sessions are marvellous free entertainment which is open for all to attend.

This year will see the 6th Scoil Gheimhridh Ghaoth Dobhair taking place in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht. It will run from the 27th December 2019 until the 1st January
This year will see the 6th Scoil Gheimhridh Ghaoth Dobhair taking place in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht. It will run from the 27th December 2019 until the 1st January 2020. This traditional winter school programme boasts a wide range of events, including traditional Irish music instrumental, song and dancing workshops; lectures; films; music recitals; kids’ events. There will also be concerts/performances by UAINE, featuring Bríd Harper, Tony O’Connell, Paul Meehan & Lisa Butler; Women Uilleann Pipes Concert; Julie Fowlis, Zoë Conway, Éamon Doorley & John McIntyre with special guests Dominic Mac Giolla Bhríde & Glórthaí Ulaid; FIDIL & special guests and Dervish & special guests.
The Music Classes/Workshops which are the heart of Scoil Gheimhridh Ghaoth Dobhair are open to all ages. Admission to these classes and workshops is by 4-DAY REGISTRATION ONLY. It is not possible to register for these on a daily basis.
This years Tutors are, for Intermediate & Advanced Flute: Barry Kerr & Louise Mulcahy; Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced Fiddle: Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Martin McGinley, Zoë Conway, Ciarán Ó Maonaigh, Clare Friel, Tara Connaghan & Cathal Ó Curráin; Intermediate & Advanced Uilleann Pipes: Síle Friel & Mick O’Brien; Intermediate & Advanced Concertina: Caitlín Nic Gabhann & Tony O’Connell; Button/Piano Accordion: Dan Brouder; Beginners Whistle & Flute: Anna Friel & Maureen McGrattan; Bodhrán: Séamus O’Kane; Guitar & Bouzouki: John McIntyre; Sean-nós Dancing: Edwina Guckian; Banjo & Mandolin: Angelina Carberry; Harp: Síle Denvir; Sean-nós Singing: Diane Cannon.
The classes & workshops will run from Saturday 28th to Tuesday 31st December each day from 10am to 1pm. It is important to note that there are no ‘absolute’ beginner classes available in any instruments. There are minimum abilities required to attend.
All events will take place in the parish of Gaoth Dobhair, and will be held in six principal venues: Amharclann Ghaoith Dobhair & Teach Jack, Na Doirí Beaga; Teach Hiúdaí Beag, An Bun Beag; Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair, Na Doirí Beaga; An Gailearaí, Údarás Business Park, Gaoth Dobhair, and Club CLG, Gaoth Dobhair.

Temple Bar TradFest is Ireland’s largest festival of trad, folk music and beyond showcasing not only the wealth and variety of Irish musical talent but also top international acts. It started out as a small niche trad festival back in 2006 and from its modest beginnings has gone from strength to strength over the past decade. It offers concert goers unique opportunities to experience live music in some of Dublin’s most historic places. From the breathtaking nave of St. Patrick’s Cathedral to the grandeur of City Hall. This years TradFest takes place from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th of January.

Now in its Eight year, the annual Doolin Writers’ Weekend takes place commencing on the 24th January 2020 and will last until the 26th. Many well known artists and writers including J.M. Synge, George Bernard Shaw, Dylan Thomas, Augustus John and Oliver St. John Gogarty have spent time in Doolin over the years.
Doolin Writers’ Weekend this year will be guest curated by Susan Tomaselli, founder and editor of the wonderful Gorse Literary Journal and will consist of workshops, readings, advice from publishing industry insiders, music sessions, open mic and of course wonderful food and hospitality from the Hotel Doolin team all weekend long.
At this years event, Jess Traynor will judge the Poetry competition, June Caldwell will judge the Short Story competition and the Video Poem will be judged by Dave Lordan. During the Weekend there will be a series of workshops covering short fiction, novel writing, creative nonfiction, spoken word, screenwriting and poetry.
Weekend Ticket are available for €99 from TicketWeb and includes free entry to all workshops and events including the opening night drinks reception and readings. All workshops are €40pp and all events €10pp for those without weekend tickets.
