Frank Finn Traditional Singing Weekend 2019

The 13th Frank Finn Traditional Singing Weekend based around the town of Sligo, is a bilingual event composed of singing workshops, sessions, audio and video presentations, scholarly talks and a field trip. It features local and visiting singers, speakers, academics and storytellers. There will be plenty of trad sessions to enjoy. It is dedicated to the art of traditional singing, which is thankfully alive and well in Sligo and surrounding areas.

Although the weekend is focussed on the enthusiast, it will also be of interest to those who would like to learn more about the art of traditional singing.

The weekends events are based around the Yeat’s Country Hotel which is situated at Rosses Point on the coast and as usual there will be the usual visit to Coney Island for the singing workshops on the Saturday, details available in the brochure which can be seen by visiting Sligo Traditional Singers Facebook page.

This festival is named in honour of Frank Finn, who died tragically in 2011. As well as being a composer he was also a great singer and a founding member of the organising group.
