Mayo Street Food Festival

The third annual Mayo Street Food Festival returns to tantalise the tastebuds on Sunday, September the 8th in Castlebar. The event aims to showcase the very best of Mayo’s food scene, highlighting the fantastic artisan food produce Mayo has to offer giving it a street food twist, as well as the culinary expertise of local chefs, with plenty of music and entertainment along the way.

The festival comprises two main areas – the ‘Canteen’ tent and the Producers’ Marketplace. The cream of local chefs will be in attendance hosting the ‘Canteen’ tent, where they work side by side, offering affordable dishes with a street food focus, reflecting their own individual establishments. In the Marketplace, artisan producers will be selling a range of wonderful products – from chocolate to sea salt and everything in between!

The Mayo Street Food Festival Canteen will be set up under a ‘big top’ stretch awning, spanning Bridge Lane. The Canteen area features a large communal stall where restaurants cook and serve street food offerings that reflect their establishments using, where possible, Mayo ingredients.
