The ninth Ballincollig Winter Music Festival brings together a fantastic mix of artists and events mainly centred around the festival hub at The White Horse.
The Festival kicks off on Thursday, January 25th will be the amazing Wexford musician, Wallis Bird. Supporting her will be Canadian Folk musician Kaia Kater.
Also appearing at the Festival will be Fiona Kelleher, Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams with special guest John Neville, Culture Vultures with Notify, Doireann Ní Ghríofa & Cónal Creedon, Rubyhorse, Two Time Polka, Alec Finn, Frankie Gavin & Derek Hickey, Lavinia Mancusi, Sebastian Lagrange and Gael Rutkowski. The closing concert will be The Niall McCabe Band album launch with special guest Rowan.
The White Horse Guitar Club will also be performing at the Cork Opera House with special guest Leftbank.
A series of workshops covering Harp, Piano, Concertina, Uileann Pipes, Fiddle, Flute & Whistle, Traditional Singing will take place at Gaelscoil Uí Riordáin, Ballincollig on Saturday the 27th. They will commence at 10am with a finishing of 1.30pm. There will also be a workshop covering Sean Nós Dancing which will take place at The White Horse at 12pm. Finishing times for the workshops may vary, please discuss with the relevant tutor on the day. The cost per workshop is €10. Tickets are available at the door but advance booking is recommended to guarantee availability.
During the festival Trad Sessions will be held in the Main bar at The White Horse. Entry to these sessions is free.
