The Baltimore Fiddle Fair now in its 27th year has gained the reputation of being one of the best traditional and folk music festivals around. It consistently features world class line-ups of national and international artists and presents them in the beautiful seaside surroundings of Baltimore. The festival consists of concerts, workshops, exhibitions and sessionsĀ at various venues around the village.
This years Fiddle Fair will commence on Thursday evening, the 9th of May, with an opening concert in Saint Matthew’s Church at 8.30pm featuring SiobhĆ”n Peoples and Murty Ryan who will be appearing with Eoin O’Sullivan.
Friday evening will see Cormac Begley and Liam O’Connor followed by the incredible French-Canadian folk super group De Temps Antan, who will be performing in theĀ Fiddle Fair MarqueeĀ commencing at 9:00pm.
On Saturday John Wynne & John McEvoy will be performing inĀ Saint Matthew’s Church at 1:00pm with a lunchtime concert. Later on in the afternoon at 3pm Adam Sutherlandand Marc Clement + Live Podcast will be performing in theĀ Glebe Gardens Amphitheatre. Also at 3pm in the Fiddle Fair Marquee Eoin O’Sullivan will be on stage.
In the evening, multi award-winning Canadian supergroup The FretlessĀ will be on stage at 9pm in the Fiddle Fair Marquee. They will be appearing with John Sheahan and Colm Mac Con Iomaire.
Sunday will see Athena Tergis and Christy Leahy perform inĀ Saint Matthew’s Church for a lunchtime concert starting at 1:00pm. Then at 3pm the Lena Jonsson TrioĀ and The The CĆ©ilĆ AllstarsĀ will be on stage in theĀ Glebe Gardens Amphitheatre.
Finishing off the day will be the contemporary Scottish folk band The Poozies followed by Dreamersā CircusĀ who will be on stage in the Fiddle Fair Marquee from 9pm.
