It is with regret that the Blossom Harp Festival 2020 is being cancelled due to the circumstances of Covid-19.

The Blossom Harp Festival Weekend, now in its fifth year, takes place in Tuamgraney, Co. Clare on the Palm Sunday Weekend. This will be a most enjoyable weekend of dance and music with something for the whole family. It will also have Harp, Fiddle, Concertina and Sean Nós Dancing Workshops.

As part of the weekend there will be a Harp-makers Exhibition, Sessions, a Concert, and a Ceilí.

The festival will be kick off with a Meet & Greet session in Nuala’s at 7.30pm on Friday evening with Fiana Ní Chonaill, Lizzie and friends.

A series of Workshops will be held on Saturday & Sunday with Registration taking place at 9.30am on Saturday morning. The workshops and tutors will be for Harp: Fiana Ní Chonaill, Elmer Coughlan and Nadia Gallagher; Fiddle: Denise Glass (Beginners and Intermediate), Manus Maguire (Advanced); Concertina: Tim Collins and Sean Nós Dancing: Stephanie Keane. The venues for the Workshops will be given on the day.

The Blossom Harp Festival Gala Concert featuring the tutors will take place in St. Cronin’s Church commencing at 8pm.

Sunday will kick off with a Breakfast Session commencing at 10am in Nuala’s pub.

In the afternoon at 3pm there will be a Ceilí featuring the Out the Gap Ceilí Band.

Also on Sunday there will also be a Harp Solo U18 (min. 3 years playing experience)  competition and Harp Ensemble (min. of 3 and max. of 6 members) competition. The Competitions will be held in St. Cronan’s which is one of the oldest church’s in Ireland. If you would like to watch the competitions, then please come to St Cronan’s Church.

The festival will finish with a session at Nuala’s on Sunday night commencing at 7pm.

With good food available in the village, this will be the perfect place to start your Easter holidays in the lovely historic village of Tuamgraney, between the mountains and the lake!
