From small beginnings, Ceardlann Earraigh has grown to become an established event in the annual calendar of Irish Traditional events. Ceardlann Earraigh celebrates its 22nd Anniversary on the 13th of April 2019.
The first event was organised as a result of a grant received from Kildare County Council by Bord Chill Dara CCÉ. Over the year these workshops have drawn pupils from all over Ireland and far flung places such as Wales, Scotland, Sweden, Germany, the US and Japan. They travel to Kildare because they are consistently provided with the best of tuition and this year will be no exception.
This year the Workshop Tutors will include, for Fiddle: Liam O’Connor & Tara Breen; Concertina: Pádraig Rynne; Flute: Conal Ó Gráda; Button Accordion: Daithí Gormley; Banjo: James Harvey; Flute: Conal Ó Gráda; Tin Whistle: Dave Sheridan; Bodhrán: Colm Murphy and Uilleann Pipes: Pádraig McGovern.
Please be aware that there are no classes for beginners and that as class numbers are limited, advance booking is essential.
The Grand Concert will follow in the evening at the Glenroyal Hotel in Maynooth commencing at 8pm. It will feature both the Tutors from the Workshops and visitors.
