The Children’s Books Ireland International Conference is a weekend-long celebration of the very best in children’s books and is back for its 29th year, again at Dublin’s Light House Cinema. This annual event is a unique opportunity to critically reflect on the impact, imagination and importance of books for young people. Anyone with an interest in and a passion for children’s books is welcome to attend and participate in what is always an outward-looking, lively and thought-provoking event.

The theme of this year’s Children’s Books Ireland International Conference is Belonging and examines what is essential to being human – being part of a community or tribe. This years speakers include Kwame Alexander, Mary Murphy, Jarvis, Celia Rees and many more.

The conference also includes the presentation of the annual CBI award. This award is made to an individual or organisation in recognition of an outstanding contribution to children’s books.
