Fleadh na gCuach, the Cuckoo Festival, takes place each year over the May Bank Holiday weekend in the scenic village of Kinvara, County Galway. This traditional music and community based arts festival will be celebrating its 26th year this May. It has a well established reputation for the best in traditional music, attracting musicians from all over Ireland and beyond.
Fleadh na gCuach will have a mix of Traditional music, Singing sessions, Set dancing, Art & Crafts and Poetry readings. One will find in excess of 50 sessions in the villages’ pubs during the festival. These sessions will be happening during the afternoon & night and are marvellous free entertainment open for all to attend.
The Fleadh is renowned for the quality of its poster and year after year manages to secure the services of the best local artists. The poster will be available for purchase so keep an eye out!
This is very much a family orientated festival with something for everyone. You can certainly expect to have a most enjoyable weekend.
