Taking inspiration from the great festivals of the 70’s and 80’s such as Lisdoonvarna down the road and from the deep musical roots of the county, The Doolin Folk & Traditional Music Festival presents powerful music in an intimate setting and ensures that audiences and musicians can feel at one and just enjoy the communal spirit of such festivals.
This year sees the Seventh annual Doolin Folk & Traditional Music Festival taking place from the 14th until the 16th of June in the Hotel Doolin Events Barn & Gardens. This Festival has established itself as a firm favourite on the summer festival calendar, Doolin is acclaimed for the diversity of its music programme and is filling a niche on the festival scene. Out here on the edge of the country, musicians and audiences are re-connecting and experiencing the unbroken but ever changing nature of our rich and nourishing music.
Appearing at the Festival this year on the Main Stage will be: Hudson Taylor, Clannad, Tamikrest, Maria Doyle Kennedy, The Lost Brothers, Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Máirtín O’Connor Trio, Julie Fowlis & Zoë Conway, Yvonne Casey, Daoirí Farrell, Noel Hill, Steo Wall, Rachel Sermani, John Sheahan & Michael Howard, Notify, Emma Langford, Murphy Beds, Dublin Blues Cartel, Anna Mieke, The Davies Brothers. Special Guests The Stacks, DJ Will Softly, John Cummins, MXSE and Dora Gola.
The Whitehorse Sessions Stage will feature: King Kong Company, The Eskies, Kneecap, Clare Sands, The Mud Bubble, Shakalak, Bone Machine, Cry Monster Cry, Serious Mischief, Vickers Vimy, Billow Wood, The Diviners, The Mad Horn Céilí Band, Moes Anthill, Padraig Jack, The Burma, Big Chimney Barn Dance, Clare O’Riordan, Matt Owens, Little Oak, Daniel Maher & Band and Greenshine.
Festival regulars will be familiar with the wonderful family-friendly setting with the usual mix of great day-time events and laid-back hay-bale seating between gigs in Hotel Doolin’s sunny courtyard setting.
